Advanced GIS (GEOL 404/504) - 3 credits: Study of geodatabase, spatial analysis and modeling, raster processing, map algebra application, spatial modeling with model builder, digital terrain modeling, 3-D modeling, ArcINFO command line, and advanced GIS data structures. Practical application of ESRI ™ ArcGIS (ArcMap, ArcCatalog, ArcToolBox, Arc/Info), Python scripting and Clark University's Idrisi Kilimanjaro software. Exercises include editing, querying, and spatial analysis techniques with Arc/Info, digital terrain modeling, spatial analysis, image processing with Idrisi, model builder application, arc macro language (AML) coding and application, and map algebra application. In addition, data accuracy, error assessment techniques, and error propagation is explored.. Here is the sample of syllabus) for this class.
