In this study, we will determine the success of post-fire reseeding and the impact of, and interactions between human activity (specifically reseeding and reseeding management practices) and environmental processes on the rangeland health of Idaho.
The research has three primary objectives:
- Assess post-fire reseeding success through the comparison of pre-fire and post-fire primary productivity variables retrieved using satellite data.
- Expand research on how reseeding projects affect post-fire ecosystem recovery of semiarid rangelands through the comparison of ecological variables retrieved using satellite data in reseeding areas and fire areas where no reseeding has occurred.
- Assess post-fire reseeding success relative to biophysically similar areas not impacted by the fire.
